FLAS Infomation Sessions
The Kansas African Studies Center (KASC), Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS), and Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) regularly host three information sessions for undergraduate and graduate (KU or Non-KU) students interested in applying for Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships, both for the Academic Year (AY) or Summer terms. The sessions inform students about U.S. Department of Education regulations, Area Studies Center competitive priorities, strategies to be successful, and more. Sessions are organized by FLAS Coordinators and often include KU Study Abroad Advisors as well as past and current FLAS fellows. The FLAS Coordinators encourage all potential applicants to attend in order to learn critical information and ask individual questions.
